We purchased My Merry Monarch in the fall of 1992 as a 5 month old colt for me to train. Just so that now when I am getting old I could have a riding horse that I had trained myself and would feel comfortable with. Little did we know about the Pintabian breed or that he would be one of their foundation sires. Rex as I call him has sired some of the best Pintabians in the US and Canada. He has great grand foals in South Africa and one going to England. I gelded him in the fall of his 13th year and started showing him with the Arabian Horse Society of Iowa. His first year 2006 in the show ring he was their Grand Champion Overall Horse, Reserve Champion Western Pleasure horse, Top Five Halter Horse, and Top Five Game Horse. In 2007 we only made it to 2 of the shows and he still made top 5 in Western, Hunter and Games. That year we went to the Arab ride at Fort Robinson where he proved to be a very willing and dependable mount. Stan even rode him in the team penning contest and they won their division. He has proven to be everything I dreamed of and more always looking out for me and follows me around like a puppy dog when given the chance. Rex won Grand Champion Stallion at the only Pintabian show we took him too. Here are some pictures of Rex At home, At shows and at trail rides.
